Point of View: Toby Alvillar

After the kids leave, Toby is alone again and he feels lonely and depressed, thinking about the mess he is in, about being forced to live in a dirty hideout, about the "Gypsy Game" he never really got to play with his friends, and about his father. After some time, he gets up and eats the food his friends brought him.

Garbo returns in the evening, and she is surprised when she sees that Toby is still there. She scolds him, telling that a young and clever person should not live as a "throwaway human being", and the place where he came from cannot be worse than this hell hole. Eventually, Toby decides to tell Garbo his story.
